What could be more evocative than the name itself of our country to persuade oneself of the influence the Vikings exercised upon our history ?

Grounding on this obviousness, the students directed their researches into two definite directions :

• The archaeological traces, attesting the passing of the Vikings through our country, and their life there;

• The toponymy, testifying to the perenniality of their influence.
